My name is Edna Acosta, and I studied Accounting in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
In 2011, I began working as a tax preparer for one of the nation’s leading tax preparation franchises, specializing in individual tax returns (Form 1040), right here in Tucson, Arizona.
In 2017, I launched my own firm under the name VTX Business Consultants LLC, and since then I have continued to study the Internal Revenue Code, earning my Enrolled Agent certification from the IRS in January 2022.
What I love about taxes is that no two situations are ever the same. Every return represents a new learning experience, and as someone who is always eager to learn, I find this industry to be the perfect fit. It requires constant study, curiosity, and the ability to stay up to date—and I enjoy every part of that challenge.
Throughout the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with many people, and I’ve come to realize how essential it is to educate taxpayers. My service doesn’t stop at simply filling out forms—I strive to make sure every client walks away understanding a bit more about taxes and their own return. I believe that as professionals, our ultimate responsibility is to become true advisors to our clients.
Outside of studying and reading, one of my biggest passions is the constant search for better and more efficient ways to do things. I believe that in a rapidly changing world like the one we live in today, innovation and reinvention are essential.
I love being able to help my clients succeed, and seeing their businesses become profitable and scalable is one of the greatest rewards I can experience as a professional. As a way of giving back to the industry that has brought me so much fulfillment—both personally and professionally—I’ve committed a significant part of my practice to mentoring and training new professionals who are passionate about this work, and who lead with integrity, responsibility, and ethics. My goal is to build a community where we all feel at home.
